2023 Outstanding Beginning Teachers
Two Mehlville School District teachers named Outstanding Beginning Teachers

Mehlville High School English Language Arts Teacher Kelly Newton and Bernard Middle School Social Studies Teacher Robert Summers were named Outstanding Beginning Teachers by the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE). All recipients must be in their first or second year of teaching and are nominated by their college.

Bernard Middle School is part of Mehlville School District. Located in south St. Louis County, Mehlville School District encompasses all or part of the unincorporated communities of Mehlville, Oakville, Concord and Lemay. Through its dedication to providing institutional excellence, fiscal responsibility and community benefit, our fully accredited district serves the educational needs of about 10,000 children in a community of about 96,000 residents within 42 square miles.
